We have combined traditional drug discovery with a specific physicochemical principle (the Kinetic Isotope Effect to modulate the Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, Toxicity (ADMET) profile of pharmaceuticals without altering their mode of action.
Since late 2004, Auspex has been developing the capabilities and proprietary know-how to strategically-substitute deuterium within known active molecules to create superior drug candidates with very attractive therapeutic profiles. Depending on the class of molecules, we have demonstrated the ability to synthesize hundreds of drugs that should have the potential to proceed through human clinical studies in rapid fashion. Our business model is one which significantly reduces the cost and risk of drug development, while providing novel and patent-protected clinical programs to our licensing and development partners with efficiency.
